I would like to remove the stock hood prop on my Tacoma after I install my Spiker Hood Struts just to clean up that area under the hood. Has anyone removed it and if so was it difficult?

Leave the prop rod, its not in the way or causing any damage. If your struts fail, then you will want it there to hold up the hood.

Yea I get that part. But how does the stock prop rod come out? Just sldie it through the mounting location on the radiator support?

I know its an older thread but I added the Spikers, removed the pop rod. Looks way better and also put a black plastic tab and removed the retainer clip. I just think it gives a cleaner look. I had the REdlines on my mustang and they are going on 14 years and npt an issue however I think the Spikers are of better quality but would be happy with either.

Why remove it? Leave it for when the struts fail. Just an ocd thing?
