installing trans temp gauge

    I have seen threads about trans temp gauge installs, but havent found the answer to my question.

    I am going to add a trans temp gauge to my 97 3.4L auto 4WD and I have found kits that place the sender in either the pan or in the trans line going to the cooler. I am wondering where the best place to install the sender is?

    Also, I am looking into the Autometer gauges and I am wondering which is recommended because they have so many different ones.
