Installing TRD Style Skid Plate on a Tacoma SR - Is my understanding correct?

I have a 2022 Tacoma SR Double Cab 4x4. Since it is a SR it has a black plastic front air dam hanging below the front bumper and the thin steel two piece skid plate. I am looking at the aluminum TRD or knock-off TRD skid plate from Amazon.

I am interested in one of these since I will be able to drain my oil and change my filter without messing with the skid plate. And I think the black plastic air dam looks a bit odd handing down on the SRs - especially since the higher line Tacomas come without any air dam - I guess to give you a better angle of approach.

My understanding is the TRD style skid plates will fit my SR, but I will have to remove the black plastic front air dam that hangs below the front bumper. It appears that this air dam is just bolted on with a few bolts. After removing the thin two piece factory skid plate and the air dam the TDR style aluminum skid plate will mount up with 6 bolts and spacers.

    Is that a correct understanding?

    Thanks in advance.

No problems other than a somewhat messy oil change due to residual oil splash on plate. The plastic air dam is begging to get ripped off anyway.

I just put the one from Amazon (Lostar) on my Off Road. Looks great and is much stronger than the factory plates. I had a plastic air dam on my 2019 GMC Canyon and took it off. Looked much better without it. What little it does, if anything, isn't enough to make any difference with it off.

Thank you. N22WLZ that looks good without the air dam...totally agree with "begging to get ripped off" by the way it hangs down there.
