Last year I got the GMPP tune for my Solstice. Replace two sensors, take it to the dealership, they call up the mothership and reflash the ECM. After the reflash when in competitive mode (traction control off, StabiliTrak reduced) the change was huge 30 HP gain, 80 lb ft gain in torque! I wonder if this is the same sort of thing for the Tacoma? Personally I wouldn't install anything like this unless it has the TRD stamp of approval

    The sprint booster?
    No

It intercepts the input from the gas pedal and amplifies the signal so the electronic side sees a different value.

That's it..... Takes the signal of u giving 1/4 throttle and amplifies the signal and opens the butterfly to 100%.

    That'sabout it.
    Zero HP, zero tq gain

I have old X-1 datalogs, where you can see the stock ECU had closed the throttle while the pedal position is still at 100%. Blasted nazi ECU.....

So basically the ziptie mod people do on sports bikes, easier to WOT but doesnt add anymore power. At least its free on my motorcycle lol.

So when the pedal is to the metal, is the fly-by-wire delivering true WOT?

...and what about Tacomas? If WOT is not actually achieved, is there performance to be gained by getting it to 100%?

Old post I know.....but just looked at urd.com and they have the sprint booster available for 05+tacomas auto and manual.....doesnt specify v6 or 4cyl but since it doesnt specify I would imagine it works for both or both motors use same throttle setup.....I found my next mod!!

Double tapping the gas pedal works for me. If you push it to the floor and then hit it quickly again it tricks the pcm into wot.
why buy something that's almost 300 bucks when it gets you really no gain at all unless you have a tuner.

What would you benefit from a larger throttle body with out tuning for it?
