I have a 2013 Tacoma and we all know they give us 2yrs /20k miles free oil change.

my first oil change at 5k miles, I went to the dealer to get it done.

but I really don't trust those guys do it for me. Ive always done all the work on my vehicle myself and I would feel much better if I just do the oil change myself.

has anyone tried asking the dealership to just give the materials (oil & filter) and do the oil change yourself?

I had a 1 piece drive shaft (1 zerk) they wouldn't service because it wasn't oem so I took the double cardigan, threw it in the bed and took it to the dealer & made them grease (2 or 3 zerks) while it was in the bed of the truck. Short answer, yes.
