Instrument Cluster Lights not coming on after battery change.

    Last night, I left a restaurant and the car suddenly would not start. I got a jump from the valet and on the way home the check engine light and the Trac Off lights were on. In the morning the cars started and I took it ot Autozone for a code check revealing the battery was gone. AAA replaced it.

    Afterward however the lights on the instrument panel are not coming on with DRL's on and the lighting on Auto. They do come on in dark environments, but even then, they are slow to respond. It takes a 20 seconds or so. Any idea how to correct this?

    Try to disconnect the battery, wait 30 minutes before reconnect. If enough residual power stayed during swap, system could get confused. Let it drain so circuits can reset.

    Remove the NEGATIVE terminal, look for the minus symbol molded into the battery case. Ask a friend or neighbor for help, most any male over 50 should know what to do.
