instrument cluster, turn signals, A/C not working.

I was doing some suspension work on my Tacoma. I disconnected the battery as precaution, when I reconnected the battery I put the positive cable on before the ground which caused a spark between the positive cable. My engine turned right over however my entire gauge cluster does not work as well as my A/C, and Blinker light! I need help Asap as this is a work truck. I feel so stupid! My headlights and radio still work tho.

So do you think it’s just a simple fuse? I didn’t check any of the larger fuses our the relay.

What instrument do you have/use to verify a bad fuse? Besides the eyepercent...:D

Unlikely you did permanent damage. The fuse box cover has a diagram. If you don't have a tester you can you pull the fuses (please, one at a time so you put them back correctly) and eyeball if they're blown. There's two fuse boxes: one in the engine bay and one under the instrument panel on the left side. The AC fuse is in the engine bay but the gauge is in the cabin.

If the diagram is missing for some reason, it's here.

I have inspected some of the fuses in both boxes, such as eg1 number 2, and some others. None of the ones I pulled so far are blown, I will have to check every single fuse and pull one by one like you said.

How did the positive spark if the negative wasn't connected?

I just pulled every single fuse one by one in the 2 separate fuse boxes. They are all still in tact. What’s next? I’m gonna run to aurozone and use their Obd reader and see if any codes come up. Scared of running out of gas and not being able to communicate to drivers which lane I’m turning in. Would any of the relays have blown?

Guys, after unplugging every single fuse and pushing them firmly back in, my dash came back on! I’m going to run a diagnostic and will let you guys know what codes pop up. Very strange because I never messed with any fuses prior to doing my suspension work last night.

You might think about disconnecting your battery for 10 to 15 minutes.

Negative always comes off first, negative always goes on last.

The reasoning behind it is once the negative is disconnected from the battery, you cannot create a spark to ground IF a wrench contacts an engine component or a chassis location.
