    Hello!

Hoping that someone on here may be able to point me in the right direction on where to look next.. I've been chasing a gremlin with my instrument panel dimmer switch not working.

I remember that it was working the 1st time I swapped my Guage and climate control bulbs to LEDs, just not sure when it stopped. To be clear, the lights are on, and at their brightest setting with no input from the dimmer switch knob. When checking with a test light, I do have 12v going to the red/green wire on the back of the dimmer switch while the lights are turned on.

Recently, I went through and replaced my bulbs again for a different color scheme (had a couple burnt out). With these replaced, I went ahead and ordered a used dimmer switch off ebay, the same "electronic" 3 prong style as my oem one. Along with checking my fuses under the kick panel and in the engine bay, I still am left with the same issue of lights on brightest setting with dimmer not working.

All my other lights are working fine, including the tail and license plate bulbs. I also made sure that my dimmer wire on the aftermarket stereo head unit was not plugged in. When it was plugged in, made no difference.

My only thought now is that maybe these new LEDs are too little draw and will need some sort of resistor, but again I remember the first time I swapped to LEDs my dimmer was working!
