I use geico, full coverage (still paying off the truck) my rate is 1074 per 6 months, i pay in full. That also includes their drive easy commy bs tracking software discount (which is ass because it's too sensitive on cornering, smooth driving *constant speed*, and braking). Something else chinsey, they'll all tell you your credit score isn't taken into account and that's a bold faced lie. Your credit score matters most on your rate, FACT...second is your driving record. I finally had a couple tickets drop off and my rate went down a little but it wasn't till I got my credit rating up that I really saw my rate go down. never understood that...tickets upping your rate sure, that makes sense...but your credit rating being low...that makes zero sense IF you pay you bill every month/6 months

no one even gets pulled over anymore and the cops are nowhere to be found when they are needed. hell, there's a cop in my town who takes naps in his cruiser behind a shopping center everyday. this is not a small town either...

This ^^^. My insurance company was Allstate for many years, the agent passed away and they swtched agent, my insurance rate then went bizarre; I started shopping around and been with them since. Allstate been trying to lure me back, and they can't match the rate I have.

ugh...verizon or visable (which uses verizon towers) is the only option for cell phone in my area...no service otherwise, those damned maps are lies. at&t and sprint supposidly have coverage but not in reality. hell when I lived in waco Tx I would have 3 bars and my calls ALWAYS dropped! I switched to verizon and they've been the only company I could use since

cable companies have a "legal" monopoly...each big brand controls a region of the nation...so it's not a true monopoly but they've agreed to not interfere in those regions...they stay in their own. some folks think they have a different company than one of the big like 4 or 5 but if you dig you'll find that "small" company is actually owned by a bigger company...it's a legal monopoly and prevents competition. we have the BEST internet capability in the us but we pay the HIGHEST rates...what you pay for 1mbps other people in other nations pay that rate for like 1 gbps...it's ridiculous...WE invented the internet but pay the most for it...so stupid

car insurance wise I haven't found one company that much better than another...they all base your rate more on your credit score (that makes NO sense to me) than your driving record...I have no tickets on my record but my credit is only 680 so I spend nearly 1100 for 6 months for full coverage on the truck and basic on the 04 camry.

Dude fuck geico. I had been a geico customer for 10 years and they were going to raise my rates 30% in September for auto. no tickets, no accidents, 2 new, safe vehicles on the policy. they said it was due to "inflation" I said, funny you called cause I am looking for home owners insurance for the house I just agreed to purchase. Their "multi-line discount" was nonexistant and they continued to increase my rates and hit me with a horrible home owners rate and umbrella policy.

I promptly left, went to state farm where my auto rate dropped about 40% for better coverage, homeowners rate was about 40% less than geico, and umbrella was 50% less than geico.

They continue to call and try and get me back lol

Heard this from Adam Corolla..... but when we were kids, the daytime TV commercials were all about how you could get your CDL and be a truck driver. Or you could go to school and get a degree in drafting, or become a welder. Now all the commercials are about suing somebody.

$1100. "Maximum" coverage through ICBC and Family Solutions. About as cheap as it gets. No accidents, claims or tickets and good credit. I could run around on basic coverage for $750 but.. uh, no.

    Yeah.
I think rates are also dictated by the cost to repair a vehicle, and everything else has gone up -- so rates likely have to go up to cover that additional cost.

I've only had a few claims over the past 20 years (only one at-fault where my wife hit a tree avoiding a deer, no other vehicle involved), and only one where I had to deal with the other driver's insurance (the third and most recent was an uninsured driver). Dealing with the other party's insurance just plain sucks, I don't think it matters what insurance company it is. I've just filed under my own insurance, paid the deductible, and gotten it refunded when they settle with the other party or move it under uninsured. It takes a while, but you don't have to deal with them trying to repair your vehicle with used or crap parts to save a dime.

I had progressive...I did a quote with geico...they never once told me their cheaper quote required their spying software until AFTER I signed on...but it's $20 cheaper than progressive...and I just turn my phone off...I refuse to get docked because idiots in front of me in shreveport cut me off, slam on their brakes, or suddenly slow down all for no reason...damn it...still cheapest I can find

I bet within the next ten years State Farm is going to raise your rate 30%... no tickets, no accidents, no claims. Then you'll call around and you'll get a deal somewhere maybe even with Gieco again.. It's a big cluster ****.

I checked recently with state farm for my home and toys. They were a little lower than geico on my 2 vehicles, but quite a bit higher on my home. It didn't pay me to switch. I've had others like progressive in the past...they low ball you in to be a customer, but jack their rates up a year later hoping you'll not notice. So far geico has been close to the same for the last 3 years.

I have State Farm. Rates have been the same on my Taco for the two years I've had it. No increase notices. I'm in WA. state, but I also live in the boonies, and very rarely have to go into 'The Big City' ... So I'm guessing that's a big part of it. And maybe because I've been with them for 35 years and never once have had a claim? IDK....
