I'm in a very similar position and mine is much higher because Arizona is full of stupid, aggressive morons who can't drive. And senile old people who go the wrong way on the freeway.

I am in the process of switching. Live in Indiana and I have a 800+ credit rating and my insurance for vehicles went up for the year 210 dollars on my 3 vehicles(2426.00 to 2639.00) 20' 4 runner, 19' Tacoma, and 06' Accord. Homeowners jumped 450 dollars on my house for the year 1298 to 1745.00. I havent had a claim on either in 4 years... Going from Safeco(liberty mutual) to Indiana Farmers autos 2064.00 and house to 1283.00. Saving me about 1000.00 a year for the exact same coverage as safeco.... I pay for insurance by the year in full out of pocket. I dont have an escrow account for my house...

I’ve been with Progressive for years, I have over 800+ credit rating never an accident charged to me, or any claims by me, (ever) and they went up for no reason after the Cerveza virus lockdown ended.

I then cancelled the collision, comprehensive & left the liability/bodily injury only. Never collected on those then, but now, hm..It’s not that I can’t afford the higher rate, but dam, you made a killing on me already!

This year they lowered my rate, and if they hadn’t, I would have lowered that, to the minimum by law, or gotten a few other rate quotes. Fighting back when I can and if I can, banking $400 a year now on multi vehicle policy, that’s a windshield there.

Wait till you see your next homeowners renewal. Assuming you aren't dropped or forced to Citizens. Living in your truck will be cheap by comparison.

If you are in a condo 3 stories or more, your building (not unit so much) insurance and new laws on Reserves for safety items will mess with your wallet too. Thanks to the condo collapse in S Fl that was caused by the owners refusing to pay to have needed structural restoration work done.

I can’t speak for Arizona, but just for fun I looked this up and seems boomers in the 60-69 group are the safest drivers. Teens are the worst and tend to kill themselves and others more often. Those over 80 tend to kill themselves.

I’m in the safe driver group so please stay far away from my truck newbies lol.

progressive has the most consistent in the industry. geico has the least consistent. but fluctuation will happen with every single company.

insurance companies never raise rates for “no reason”. we should always be transparent with our customers. you may want to call us and have us review your policy for any additional updates or ideas that could save you money, and maintain the coverages you want. we have some tricks for our customers especially if they have been with us for a long time.

but…. i don’t know of a single insurance company that will allow you to live in your vehicle. that is something we refer to as an “unacceptable risk”.

It’s good to plan or try to be prepared for all possible contingencies. Considering the times we’re in, with the plagues, wars, economic risks, civil unrest, civilization collapse and Mega natural disasters, (think California) I’m doing the math on those probabilities and have not ruled that out (living in a vehicle) lol!

Right now, my highest risk is hurricanes and floods. The Ford transit van is very high on my list, as is a small hard side pop-up tow camper.
And there are ways to have a legal address for mail and legal docs. I think UPS offers something like that, a mail box that can serve that purpose, but don’t quote me on it, there are ways though, just got to do a little research.

While I understand that, there are lots of folk who do. Most not because they want to, but because they have to. I doubt any carrier would be aware of this until there was an 'event' that might reveal it.

OTOH, most folk living in a car only have enough coverage to be able to keep a plate current. If that.

Yep, I just got my renewal. I haven't made a single claim and I've had the same coverage since 2007. Single story, no dangerous animals or anything and my escrow payment increased 150.00 a month just to cover the insurance increase this year.

Yep, coverage on our rental house more than doubled this year. Not in a flood zone/coastal.

Our tenant has been there 11 years. We have no intentions of running her off, but hope she'll relocate soon as she is getting frail. Then that house will be on the market..........
