Yep. I pay 250 a month for 2 cars in CA. I have 1 ticket on record.
Stolen motorcycle crashed into me (rider was fully at fault and admitted fault to police) Now geico is giving the people on the motorcycle $60k for their injuries while my truck repairs are on me. I was under the impression I had full coverage, but turns out I have full coverage “excluding collision”. I should have read the fine print more, but still fuck geico for taking my money and giving it to the scum of the earth.

This is where home, and auto insurance is headed in the US....California and Florida as clear examples:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sn1EZVRi6xM (housing insurance, Florida example)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N73liuUE-l4 (Car insurance)

So...the top California and Florida insurance companies are completely pulling out of the states on the home insurance front, and no one is putting up a fight, because it's election prep season. So, until someone puts their foot on the insurance companies necks, they will continue the same shenanigans state to state. Insurance and big pharma pay for a LOT of votes...so yeah, here comes the pain

-We went through the same huge rate increase last fall as everyone else did. A relative recommended that I call my insurance company, not my agent, and have them first review the home and auto policies for any and all discounts that appliy.

If they are all in place THEN ask if they would see if the numbers went down by re-writing the policy. THIS shaved $1300 off of my bill between the two home and auto policies!

Also, I was told years ago that zip code affects rates in a given city.

My son has Liberty Mutual and called them concerning a rate increase. They told him that he was grandfathered in but that because of where he lives in the city, they don't write policies for that zip code any longer. He does not live in "da hood" either. The craziness continues.......

Geico, full coverage was gone up about $30 a year over the past 6 years. Up to $480 for 6 months. My safe driver course expired and I lost that discount. Need to renew every 3 years. 70+ and no claims or tickets.
