    i don't think it's coincidence.

but really no different than the rise of aldi in the grocery world.

as prices of items go up, everyone starts seeking out alternates to get the same amount of items for less cash. historically, wages haven't followed inflation for over 20 years, and we're starting to reach a crunch period, not unlike when the tea got dumped into the harbor over british taxation. no one's making more money, but more money is leaving our wallets faster than ever, leaving everyone far more stressed and stretched trying to meet their individual needs, all while corporations keep cutting things tighter and tighter while also reporting larger and larger profits.

something in that must eventually break, and it won't be pretty. just like the tea in the harbor.

And I see that as an advantage these days. As I recall, Erie is in mostly weather benign states. No premium jumps to pay for wildfires and earthquakes in California..

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
I absolutely believe we will see some large scale unrest in my life time.

    .
If you guys could define "FULL COVERAGE" as it can be different in each state.

    Example ... $???.?? for this ??? coverage.

This is the best way to compare apples to apples.

'full coverage' is different everywhere. between states, counties, and insurers.

i reached out to get some new quotes a while back, all specifically told to 'match my current coverage', which i provided to them. every one of them had different deductibles, different final coverage limits, and even different coverage options--one might skip glass coverage, where another would include extra long rental car coverage...

insurance is like solving for Pi. there's a lot of math that it takes to get to the final number, and each line item effects that final number differently. it's a pain in the ass...

I’ve listened to people who have been asked by their insurance company to pay $2000 a month for a cabin out here in NorCal. This is compared to the $2000 a year they payed prior. And dont get me started with the people I’ve talked to whom have had their insurance dropped on the basis of a google earth photo showing a discolored roof.

it's sort of the law... either the mortgage company requires it, which google says there's 61% of americans that this covers, or for auto insurance, there's minimum coverage requirements for all states that are subject to a hefty fine if ignored

I totally understand but the costs are going to force people not to carry it thats why Charlotte is the Hit and Run capital outside of LA

mother nature just made her annual attempt to wipe florida off the map. again.

not saying it's the only reason, but it's a big reason for the inflated costs. insurance has always been about inherent risks associated with the location and driver style. if only 1 of 1,000,000 are submitting claims, it means inherently less money out of the insurers pocket than 1 in 100.

Oh I am fully aware of the inflated costs of living in FL one of the reasons I moved out 25 yrs ago. My Mom is still there and is facing these HIGH costs she does not drive anymore so that cost is not a burden.....
