So I recently repaired the knock sensor wire harness (chewed wiring). As I was taking off the upper intake, I found one port (upper right) on the lower intake was much cleaner than the others. Truck seems to be running fine after the code and limp mode have cleared. Do you think it may be an injector, plug or a seal of some sort? Any help would be appreciated!

Coil maybe? Looks like that runner is not even being used. 80k miles. No codes. I've changed the plugs twice now. Regular oil changes at 3k miles due to the low miles. Toyota oil and filter every time. Any suggestions appreciated.

Have you ever seafoamed the intake?

If it runs fine I wouldn't worry about it, it's probably just due to how the PCV gases are distributed in the intake.

Thanks for the replies. Never seafoamed. Should I give it a try?
I have used techron additive about three months ago. No big deal. Didn’t notice any changes.
I agree. Not gonna worry. Just curious as to what would cause this?

It wasn’t really so much a suggestion as a question of whether you’ve used it before. Ive read before that there’s some speculation as to how well seafoaming the intake is distributed to the runners. If for some reason it did not atomize and puddled in one runner or you used a vacuum hose that only leads to one runner that might explain it. But since you’ve never used it sounds like a non-issue. The poster above mentioned pvc gas distribution and I think that’s the most likely cause. Especially if the PVC inlet to the intake is on the front and the furthermore runner does not see much due to the way things are distributed in the intake.

I've thought about using seafoam before, as well as other treatments. I'm old school as I do not not like to add anything to the engine or tank except for quality oil's and gas. I know times have changed and these additives can vastly improve performance, engine life as well as mpg's. Maybe I'll give it a try. It's petroleum based so can't do to much harm right?
Thank you for the insight guys. I appreciate your time!

Times have not changed that much. People are still buying and selling snake oil. I don't think seafoam will help you any more than just keeping up on maintenance and using quality oil and fuel.

I guess your right. And I agree, I think regular maintenance goes a long way. I have always been the "if you take care of your vehicle, your vehicle will take care of you" kind of guy. Multiple vehicles in my lifetime and It has served me well so far.
