Water would have to be damn near the door handles for that to happen. Might have bigger issues at that point... o_O

I'll have to take your word for it. I'm really not that familiar with where the holes are. Also, sounds like I need to start carrying a trolling motor...#ExpoAF.

you plan on completely submersing your truck or something? its not going to be 100 percent air tight. Pretty sure theres drain holes in the actual box anyways

Isn't the point of a snorkel for avoiding dust, not for water?

They're in the same box where the air filter is. It's a couple really small holes, like 3/16" or 1/4"

then keep your truck away from deep water, snorkel or not, water up to the hood might cause you some problems.

Just big enough to fit the nozzle of a Fluid Film can.

You wont hurt your engine buy covering up the intake and stalling out your engine. It's almost comical how guys come up with stuff about doing damage or I wouldnt do that if I were you. On older vehicles we used to use starting fluid and spray around the intake to see if there were any leaks. If there were the engine rpm would shoot up. You guys never heard of someone having a potato shoved up the exhaust as a prank. The engine will keep cranking and either blow the potato back out the exhaust or it will just crank and crank and not start because the air cant flow out of the exhaust.

They call it a "desert intake" because they don't wanna have to fight a legal case when some squid rigs for dive and goes full "down bubble"

if stalling an engine were bad for it, I would have destroyed my first manual trans car back when I was a teenager. I've probably stalled my Tacoma a hundred times on the trails. My clutch probably hates me but the engine could care less.

If people can pour gunk/carbon buildup remover (Seafoam) through the throttle body and the engine survives, I think it will survive getting cut off from air just fine.
