Yeah that's the main problem here. Beautiful product design & execution, but the basic idea of putting a jack right there, across the most-accessed area of the bed, doesn't seem useful except for a dedicated hard-core offroader or off-road racer. How often do most folks have to pull out an offroad jack? Probably better to mount it at the very front of the cargo bed. Also better to have the extra weight amidships instead of hanging off the tail end.

Nice concept, but I'm seeing some pretty glaring issues with it for most users. Reduced bed length, gets in the way of pulling anything out of the bed without stuff mounted, even more so if you keep stuff mounted on there.

IMO they should have left more space between the tailgate and swingout to store items on that side, since you're already sacrificing bed length at least you could get the inside as a flat surface, and don't have to worry about your jack/traction boards/whatever hard stuff you mount to there, swinging shut and damaging anything stored in the bed, or getting damaged itself.

    you’ve got a point

there has been out for longer MOLLE panels such as for front of the bed and sides
I’ll research if those are strong enough to hold the jack

previously kept the jack flat on a locking tray but that takes up more space then sideways or upright and didn’t actually secure it to the bed

i mean not that this is an option for all parties involved, but my 5ft bed fits a big old floor jack really well with a strap though it in the bed for those moments when I've taken it along.

I just mounted mine to the side of the bed. Works fine for me and not in the way. Also did cheap ass Amazon bed stiffeners that were pretty easy to install, no drilling required.

Those Amazon bargain bed stiffeners look like an actual bargain. Lots of thick metal, beefy welds. They look much stronger than at least a couple different fancy laser-cut offroad brand name products.

That's where I put my 60" hi-lift. When I installed the bed supports I used an angle grinder to cut about 2 inches off the hi-lift and I remove the base plate...fits better than OJ's isotoners.

Cutting 2" off the end of the hi-lift is what I call "thinking outside the box." I don't have a need to do that at the moment but I'll keep it in mind in case I run into a situation where that would help.

I just installed one of these. Running a tire, will see if it blows up. As-is seems quite stout with zero play.

Certainly not a product for everybody but I think it’s pretty cool.

wow did not know that thing can mount tire to outside

I wanna know if anyone’s made a good tailgate swingout (could be put outside of that) kind of like a Jeep etc
But with the same benefits of stock tailgate such as
    -insulation
    -mount plate and plate lights
potentially more clearance than bumper swingout

ran 60” in the bed. Moved it outside.
It fits just not well. Depends on the mounts they’re all different. I think mine are RCI

With the 37 on this thing and having to space it out from my current RTT, I added a reinforcement plate to reduce flexion
