I saw some on Ebay last week for $28.09+$14.88 shipping for the 2.7, so this group buy is a good deal.

How do we get scammed if we don't pay any money? Nobody has a penny of my money or anybody else's yet.

It's not a scam... it's just delayed for some reason... or maybe falling apart?

Thanks for putting the scam idea in my head, though. Now I'm going to be taking a much harder look at the PayPal invoice, if it ever shows up.

Scam? Not likely. First of all, Paypal has buyer protection and will refund your money if merchandise is not delivered. You can also check out the Paypal account of the biller who sends you the invoice. And since a third party is supposed to handle the orders, it will be obvious if they are not legitimate. Most businesses have hundreds or even thousands of successful transactions and you should be able to see that when you find out who bills you. It is kind of like eBay feedback but only for Paypal.

I've made hundreds of transactions through Paypal and have always gotten my money back from shady eBay sellers who tried to pull a fast one on me. Paypal protects its buyers more so than their sellers and I use it with absolute confidence. I think you should too.

No scam! Just a delay or the seller is rethinking. Probably something as simple as they're really busy. Just because we want something, doesn't mean there aren't folks ahead of us in line.

    PayPal is safe.

I'm not worried. My understanding is that aFe usually doesn't bill until they're ready to ship. The last filter I bought took 4 weeks to ship from the time I placed the order with a 3rd party (who took my money up front).

I know all about paypal. So lets just hope that these guys are for real. Sorry for getting all negative on you guys.

Scammers are everywhere and trying everything so be careful. Try selling something on Craigslist, this site, other sites etc and the scammers will come and give you their best. Paypal you with a stolen credit card # for your goods and you ship and get the money pulled back because of the stolen card..that's a good one now. This sorta group buy thing has burned some guys on other sites..not mentioning names.

Ok, lets go AFE group buy!!! MPG and HP to the rescue

My thoughts are that they are waiting to bill us closer to when the filters are ready to ship. My only ? is how can 50 filters overwhelm a company. But I suspect that they are very busy right now with everyone trying to save fuel, orders from large suppliers ect. I'm not in a hurry as my stock filter has about 28K to go.:D

I'm not worried about it being a scam.... AFE wanted 100 ...and we don't have that many yet. And Mceagles hasn't really been around to add those late folks who wanted to jump in. He stopped promoting it after we reached the first 50. So - because we haven't reached 100 - are they gonna still accept those prices or not?

I hope the reason for mceagle's absence is simple like travel or something like that since his last post that I could find was Sunday (6/1).

    MCEAGLE . . . where are ya?

My only concern is that the e-mail addresses we provided could fall into SPAMMERS, not SCAMMERS. I hate those SPAM e-mails and never-ending viagra sales pitch !!! Not that I could not use one here or there... Aey Hemmmm. :D

Sorry about being away guys....I was in Ohio for a conference for work. I haven't received my invoice either from Flowsource....I'll call him tomorrow to figure what the heck is going on. I'm also going to call AFE directly to let them know what's up.

Honestly, Oscar at Flowsource has been phenomenal every time I've called him on the phone.

Just talked to both AFE directly and Oscar at Flowsource.net. Before sending out the invoices, Oscar at Flowsource wanted to make sure the order was properly placed with AFE. Invoices are to go out this weekend.
