    From sontt

The dates this year will be August 12-14.

Some Sontt members leave home early Thursday to try and secure a large camp area for the Sontt members.

Lets start a list of people attending this year.
If you want to attend, put your name on the list.

As more people sign up, we get an idea of where people are traveling from. We then form convoys form different regions and travel up in groups. We do this for various reasons. If someone has mechanical problems on the way up, or on the way home, a group is better at dealing with these issues.
New members and members that have never been to Ardbeg it's the easiest way to find the trail head/ Camp area.
Traveling in a convoy is a funner [IMG] way to travel, convoys look cool, its a real head turner. [IMG] LOL

Before heading to camp, you can fuel up in Perry Sound. Fuel is also available in the village of Ardbeg.

Stock trucks are welcomed. We encourage members with stock trucks to attend. Stock trucks are capable vehicles (Toyota's anyway).
Don't be afraid to attend if your truck is stock. There are plenty of places to test your driving skills and your trucks capabilities. Bald tires are NOT recommended!!!
We spot for drivers negotiating obstacles ( An experienced member will guide you through obstacles to make sure you and your truck stay safe and free of damage)

Disclaimer... We cannot guarantee your truck will not suffer damage. This is a wilderness trail, shit happens! We will do the best at guiding trucks through obstacles.
This event is AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Any damage or injury is not Sontt's issue. You agree that you are attending at your own risk.

Make sure you have a proper sized spare wheel/tire... very important!

Camping in Ardbeg is primitive. It isn't a KOA camp [IMG], so pack accordingly.
4xfinn in the past has set up a primitive outhouse... get the picture?
Ardbeg (the trail system) is on Crown Land.. free camping, no showers or gift shops.
We camp lake side. Swimming in the lake is perfectly fine. Washing your truck in the lake IS NOT fine!!!
If you have a canoe or kayak, it's a great lake to paddle on.
Bring your own food and drinks, tent, trailer.

Families, girlfriends, boyfriends, dogs, cats, goldfish are welcomed.

WE DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!! It will not be tolerated. [IMG]

Beer and booze are permitted in camp, drink responsibly.

We will bring up more information as this thread evolves. Ask questions. We will answer to the best of our knowledge and ability.

So, post up your forum name if you want to attend, more names the merrier.

I'll update the list in this first post as time goes on.

    So who's attending ?

If anyone wants to know what the trail is like. Bam

Don't know which trail this was but its not too bad. Sorry about my poor editing and overall video skills. Learning still.

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!
Good to know. I am in the Hamilton area about once a month or so.
    Thanks for letting us know.

Ardbeg is easily doable in a stock vehicle. It's basicaly a well maintained access road (unless there's alot of rain, then it's a swamp). The beauty of Ardbeg is it's HUGE with many obstacles just off the trail, mild to wild.. There are many lakes and private sites, the trail goes on further than the eye can see.. It's a hydro line run.. But you can just drive it easily and stick to the main trail without any problems. I highly reccomend it for the beginner an experienced wheeler both.. Ardbeg and Greens mountain were the runs of choice back in the day..

Hope you have fun, I'll run up for the day on Sat in my 2wd stocker to watch the serious dudes play on the rocks if I can get away.. (Summer's work time for me)

    Peace

That sounds ridiculous. I'm feeling ill (sick of work) This could be my opportunity to find that black with white lettering STUDEBAKER tailgate I found on the side of the road and like an idiot I left it on the side of the road 35+ years ago. I'd also like to find that purple on purple AMC Gremlin X (with white hockey stick stripe) that had trees growing up through the floorboards somewhere up that way.

I think it's a hydro corridor in the middle of nowhere. I'm pretty sure horror movies start like this.

Yep. It's all on crown land, and the trails are done for hydro workers but there are off shoots that are more technical.
Common, it's a good time. No horror, only fun!

I'm looking forward to this. A little drive to Northern Ontario; where the Black Flies are so big you can put a saddle on them (we can have Black Fly races)
