its related, there are other colorado discussions in here, if you dont like where its at dont comment, dosent really constitute any specific forum now does it, and seeing that the 3rd gen will be competing with the colorado its appropriate. bug off.

Hopefully those Canadians will grow tired of waiting for a Colorado, and consider a 3rd gen Tacoma instead.

When the 3rd generation Tacoma is released there will be a waiting list for them too.

I'll bet one of Rock Lobster's tiny pearl-sized testicles that the Colorado won't sell worth a damn in its namesake state.

Funny I thought the popularity of the new Colorado was based on the fact that it won 2015 Motor Trend truck of the year and not because people don,t like the Gen 3 Tacoma. But what do I know I am just a newbie.

It's not hard to sell out when most dealerships have only seen 2-3 Colorado's lol. Both of my local GM dealerships have only had maybe that many come through.

The ridgeline won truck of the year when it came out too. A truck on a minivan chassi, motor trend " truck of the year" isn't saying a whole lot.

I agree on the Ridgeline but have heard a lot of average truck users mention the Colorado winning truck of the year and it must be a real good truck. Certainly more plausible than the Colorado is now more popular because of dislike of the 2016 Tacoma.
I will add that the Gen 3 Tacoma has been one of if not the most anticipated next gen trucks in a long long time. Doubtful that many people now hate it due to a very easy fix like the front grill.

Maybe true but a buddy of mine at work bought one and it's just so fucking ugly. I can only imagine his regret, or the regret I would feel, when our trucks are parked side by side. He paid near $40k.

There haven't been many of either of the GM twins sitting on lots for very long at the Colorado dealerships I've been watching.

Wait, you think the GM twins(not sure which one you were referring to) are ugly but the 3rd Gen Tacoma isn't? That's an interesting take. Just another example of beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

To the Canadian guys, how difficult is it to come down to WA, ID, MT, or whatever state and get a Colorado or any new vehicle for that matter, and bring it back to Canada?

Not that hard, but it's sort of a pain with new vehicles because there are some special requirements attached to them IIRC.

With the CAD at $0.80 to the USD it wouldn't make sense though. You'd end up paying $2-3K on the exchange anyways.

Again, and this is coming from a person living in Alberta where pickup trucks are 50% of the vehicles on the road, the dealers here have only received a few Colorado's or Canyon's each. It's not so much I think that demand is high. It's more that GM isn't supplying them. You can tell because Tacoma is still outselling the twins 2 to 1 here and there are always 5-10 Tacoma's at the local dealers. Go into the Chev or GMC dealer and they MAYBE have 1 Colorado/Canyon and it's likely loaded to the balls with options that discourage people from the Colorado/Canyon to a larger truck.

Yea, the dealers don't have any. Dave Smith's which is the largest GM dealer in the Northwest doesn't have ANY 2015 Colorados and 4 Canyons at the moment. But they do have about 240 Silverado/Sierra 1500s. And plenty more 2500 and 3500 variants.
