    Not sure if it's still the case now, but on my 06 Colorado it had no lock cylinder on the passenger door..huh? Manual locks too so that isn't why

    Why more Turbo? Can you use and unleash that power in US roads?

    No mention in the article that that CHEVY is built by ISUZU or that the COLORADO has had a miserable reliability record. I don't think I've ever heard anyone ever compare them before. They're not in the same league! I left my own reply on the site.

    Same as 10 years ago...The Colorado comes out and it makes news for a year or so and is semi competitive. Then the next model year comes and the new Tacoma and Frontier change the benchmark.

    The 3.6 in the Acadia/traverse twins don't set any mpg records. I see no way it's going to be magic in a pkg with worse aero. Wish them luck, but its not a Tacoma fighter. At best it's a full-size fighter. A 4cyl diesel is not interesting to me w/o a manual transmission...

    Really the Colorado is all speculation. Until it hits the road for a couple years nobody really knows what it will amount too. When Ford came out with the EcoBoost it was getting all kind of "it's gonna change the world post" . And in the end it's just a torqey little gas sucker that sounds like an accord in a truck body. After all at this point GM is just trying to make a truck to even compete with the Taco. Maybe it will maybe it won't. So far I haven't seen them come up with anything that makes me want to not buy a Toyota.

    He said he didn't want a key fob merged with the key, and that the leather was more durable AND easier to keep clean. Having an auto up/down feature hardly makes it a luxury vehicle.

    Just because they aren't content that their Tacoma runs and has a bed to put all their junk in doesn't mean they don't have legitimate concerns. If everyone thought the way you did, we'd still have manual locks, roll up windows, no radio, and no A/C because people would just want "to buy a truck to use as a truck".

    Would like to see better mpg, like the separate key fob ( can take key to beach lake etc without worrying about getting it wet) wold like adjustable seat -up down etc) paint that doesn't scratch when I look at it, 10k oil changes platinum plugs ( loess service means more time driving and less cost to own) and longer warranty ( why not????? We rarely need it anyway ) mpg and info center ( again why not?)

    Just hoping the new competition ( if you call it that) leads to more choices for my next Toyota... Competition is great - it brings out the best in both I love my tacoma but nothing's perfect ...... A little competition is always a good thing but In the end a Chevy is a Chevy and resale value is a pretty good measure of how they hold up - toyota holds, Chevy drops "like a rock" :D

    Everyone keeps saying the next Tacoma, needs forced induction, like turbo's etc... I just got out of a 2013, FX4, EcoBoost. It was great and all, but the mpg's were no better than the gas V8 equivalent. In some situations, my EcoBoost mileage was much worse, since whenever you are in the boost it's dumping fuel into the motor.

    I also never warmed to the low-end lag. What the Tacoma really needs is direct injection added to the 4.0L. I think they could pickup 20% or more power & torque, + 10-15% better economy. Even the 2.7 would be quite competitive, if it gained direct injection. Figure 30 mpg's easily in a reg/ cab, manual, 5-lug and maybe 25 in a Double Cab, PreRunner like my '14.

    All I am looking for in my next Toyota product wether it be a Tacoma or Tundra is a heated steering wheel option . With this said , neither of the above mentioned have considered this for the cold winter months where the big 3 have implemented a heated wheel in all their truck packages as an option . Lexus uses a heated steering wheel and the wiring and clock spring assembly is very similar to the Tacoma . I suppose I will continue freezing my hands at the wheel of my 2010 Tacoma until they add the heated steering wheel to their newer prospects . For the record , I have been looking in to a lexus steering wheel mod for the 2nd gen . You guys may think I am crazy using this excuse as a buying factor for a new truck , but 50 below zero six months out of the year and swapping from one hand to the other to keep the truck on the road is a little dangerous and thats with goose downfilled gloves on .:eek:

    Agreed on everything but the hoodscoop. I still like the cool part.

    Like the hood scoop - just looks different.

    While we're doing a wish list, how about paint that doesn't scratch when you breathe on it???

    Longer maintenance intervals - 30 k plugs??? Why? :confused:

    I know you wrote this a while ago. As I wrote my wish list even longer.

    You call these things luxury items. Yet they are standard items on all the other vehicles i have owned in the last 2 years. My list didn't say leather, it said a fake leather. The material is awesome, its really like a neoprene its easy to keep clean. Its liquid proof and ideal for a truck. Again standard equipment on the base car I had.

    Toyota has neglected this truck with the small little improvements that have migrated into other vehicles over the last several years. We are paying 30k for this truck, thats as much as I paid for my lexus new last year. This truck should have as many standard items as it.

    All my suggested improvements could have been incorporated into the present truck.

    The 2015 pro is a joke upgrade and will come at a premium price.

    While chevy is introducing a new model it has many improvements. At least they are trying

    Agreed. Would kill for an auto up switch. My Taco is an '09 and other vehicals way older have this feature standard. Its the simplest of things that make life easier. Simple things Toyota seems to skimp on...

    It is an interesting article but no matter how much it bosts about the Colorado it stil has one major inescapable flaw... IT'S STILL A GM PIECE OF CRAP

    Hummm Intresting, I feel U.

    Here in South Louisiana I'm looking for a cooled steering wheel mod:}

    Steering wheel gets so damn hot here sitting in the sun in the summer; driving with my knees while having on long pants is dangerous as well:}

    Had the heated. & cooled seats in my '13 FX4, those cooled seats are worth there weight in gold. Probably best feature I've ever had in a vehicle and only thing I really miss from that truck.
