I’ve been broken since the 80’s:rofl:

Some folk think it is just a truck. While we are ready to talk control arms and tires all they see is a pretty sunroof. Nothing bad about it, they just are not into the Tacoma other than the fact they bought a nice truck.

Tell him the sunroof was crap, the moonroof was the better option on that model.

Probably on another site.." so yesterday at a birthday party... a friend of mine has a 2017 off road tacoma and just set eyes on my 2021 sport. My truck has adaptive cruise, lane assist and a sunroof! I could tell he was a little upset (maybe jealous) because he mentioned "well I have mechanical and electronic mumbo jumbo thingies on my off road, I don't like sunroofs".

(all of this is just humor)

And yet no one will tell HIM that he’s a douche. He just might not know it yet so you should be a true friend and inform him. The sooner, the better so that he can start to work at changing himself.

Unfortunately, you are the weird one and he represents the vast majority of Tacoma owners.
We all surround ourselves with people like us. It's easy to think everyone is like we are.

I am new to Tacomas so I cannot refute your statement with certainty but I can definitely say I’ve only encountered one Tacoma owner that was a prick and it wasn’t even about the Tacoma. Everyone else i run into LOVES talking about the their truck and gets just as excited about your truck as theirs. It’s an awesome community to be a part of in my experience so far.

OP, some people are elitist dickweeds that no matter what, have to have a superior item than you. No matter the item of comparison, yours will always be inferior to their vastly superior item. These are the same people that only have material shit to talk about because they have no personality to explore. See the man twice a year, smile, and know you’re the better man.

Hmm makes me think about my behavior. I'm really happy with the bed-lights and bed-step and BakFlip MX4 and I readily go on
about those items with anyone who stops to look at or chat about my truck. I also go on about the adaptive cruise control etc but
not in a ha-ha way just in a conversational way. I got nobody to talk to so I tend to go on LOL.

I wonder if I should give it a rest.

    So much so.

most people want a red or blue or white or black or gray A to B machine. It takes gas right? Ooooooo it’s one of them fancy new inbreds with better mileage.

My wife works with someone likes this. My wife got her new RAV4 a few years ago and one of the coworkers was nice and said graduations and it was cool my wife had a sunroof. The one coworker who’s just has to think everything she has is the best and can’t say anything nice about what anyone says “sun roofs leak”

We love road trips also and this co-worker will make comments how flying is better. My wife is smart enough not to even bother, and she knows it’s not worth it.

Your "friend" is a immature self centered turd. Invite him on a trail ride. Maybe he'll get stuck, or get a ding, dent or scratch.
I bought the SR trim level. I'm not ashamed to say that the SR fit within my budget.
I am a veteran with a service connected disability. (Plus, I don't like fender flares.) I'm not exactly strapped with the cashola...:spy:

Jokes on them. Toyota put a leaky 3rd brake light in to level the playing field.

Ive owned all models and this strikes me as an oddity. I normally ( of those that are pretentious) get the OR owners acting as if a Sport couldn't make it out of a grass field. Ohh well

When I run into folks like him (regardless of topic) I just smile and nod a lot, maybe ask a couple clarifying questions to show my interest if it's someone I need to retain civilities with.

Then I spot someone across the room. If I don't care for them either, I might say 'have you told him/her about your new truck? I think I heard they are shopping'.

Or if there is no one else to punish, I excuse myself to go catch up with my 3rd cousin twice removed who I just heard was recovering from a recent surgery.

How tall is the grass? Are we talking like unmowed lawn in an HOA, or an underdeveloped Hay field?
