Oh wow I didn't even know they offered it. I wonder why more mid-size trucks don't come with that option? Or compact for that matter. A Tacoma or Ranger with a V8. That'd be something.

The V8 Colorado was not impressive. AFAIK, it was only offered in 4x4s, and it was hobbled by the old 4-speed automatic and tall (3.42) axle gears.

For that matter...the Colorado was not impressive in any way, shape, or form.

Way to take a potentially great thing and mess it up. It's like GM doesn't want a good reputation.

The Colorado was basically a case study on how NOT to build a compact truck. Wet-noodle structure, state of the art for 1982 transmission, the weird 5-cylinder engine (the answer to a question nobody asked), and GM's typical Playskool interior with Revell Snaptite dashboard.

The ancient and badly-outdated Ranger (a 1998 upgrade of a 1983 design) was far superior.

I don't have much knowledge about the Colorado, but I can with confidence this: I would never get one. I don't like the aesthetics at all and I was never fond of the interior of the one I have been in a few times. Maybe the newer ones finally got something right? I wouldn't know because I so rarely see them.

Love any well done truck, raised, lowered or stock. Dropping a vehicle and still having it drive and perform well (they key part) is probably the hardest of all mods to do.

Wouldn't mind seeing a few more lowered trucks around. A lot of them have vanished off the roads in the last few years.

I admire the work that goes into lowering trucks. Like you said, a well lowered truck is not easy. Definitely harder than lifting. Even so, I just don't like the look of them one bit. Though a part of me wants there to be more around. I guess variety is nice. Like you said, they seem to be all but gone.

The first truck I owned was a 1983 Ford Ranger. This was in 2006. The truck was in really good shape for it's year. I was going to pour some money into it and make it a low rider. It was only a 2wd and I thought it would be cool because of it's classic year. For those that don't know Ford started producing the Ranger in 1983.

Ultimately I decided against it because I wanted a 4x4. I ended up selling it and buying a 2000
Ranger 4x4 instead. I've since sold that truck too and moved onto a Tacoma. Haven't looked back at Fords or even considered a low rider truck since :p

I gotta say, I am glad it wasn't dropped. I'm biased :p So good job on NOT lowering that pretty little thing.
Good to hear you're beyond low riders now! And onto Tacoma. Although Ranger would be a close second pick for me. You've got good taste.
