I have managed to remove or cover all the shiny chrome bits in my '22 TRD Pro except for the cup holder surround. Yes I know who cares? I care and I just did not like all the chrome trim. So all I have left is this rectangular trim around the cupholders behind the (manual) shifter. It seems neither Meso nor AJT makes a replacement.

Any ideas on how to cover/remove/paint this final piece of chrome trim?

I don't have any suggestions but am interested to find out what others post as suggestions. I have the same trim in my '23 6MT and it is annoying when the sun hits it just right causing a glare

I popped mine out of my 2019 and sprayed it with few layers of black spray paint lol. I'll get the decal once it peels but its still holding up months later.

Remove, soak in a strong bleach to remove the chrome and paint to your preference.

Meso does make a chrome delete for that part comes in a kit. I’ve had one on my truck for 4 years still looks good it’s like $50 currently on his website. I know people like to bash him now but I’ve never had any issues with his stuff.

MT cupholder is the forgotten one. Unless MESO actually delivered on it and nobody told me? I painted mine MGM and I’m happy enough with it.

ETA: see NoVa TRD Sport’s post below for what I did as well. Full details here.

Here's what I did on mine--

-- Pried out the trim piece (it comes out straight up).
-- Soaked it in strong bleach for about 2 weeks. The chrome flakes off and then the copper substrate. You are left with the black plastic. If you like the black then just leave it.
    -- I painted mine with Dupli-Color MGM.

Just pop it out with any kind of pry tool and paint it. That was one of my first mods. Just despised having chrome all over the cab. Nothing like sun reflecting off of all kinds of ish in the cab, especially while driving, smh.

After waiting for meso to not make one, I think I started with black and ended up painting mine blue IMG_0687.jpg

Awesome. I'm gonna pop it out and paint it if it's that easy!

Glad I'm not the only one that finds that chrome annoying.

It’s been highly discussed OP. We all feel the same way. I suck at painting but because the piece is so flat, it came out decent for me. I had way more trouble with the shift boot collar and totally f’d that one up.

I really dont understand why Meso and AJT dont make that for manual trans. I suppose its the low volume of trucks that are manual. It seems like they would still sell them as manual owners are probably more likely to customize.
Best thing to do itls pull it and paint it.

Guess I need to search more effectively.

I solved the shift collar chrome with a B&M short shifter.

Having swapped the part for black in an AT, I’d suggest it’s not worth the money even if one was available. The adhesive that comes with them eventually gives and the part comes loose. It doesn’t snap in. If I hadn’t already tossed the OEM I’d probably wrap or paint it instead.
