Ok so this might sound stupid but the rear dome light, it should come on by itself right? When the rocker switch up front is turned on the map lights and dome light come on, when it's set to door they all come on when the doors open, but if that rocker switch is set to off and I try to turn on the rear dome light it won't come on, same if I try to only have the rear dome light come on when the doors open. I think something must be wrong, if the rear dome light cannot be turned on separately then why does it have a switch on it?

The dome light cannot be turned on manually. It is either off or on when you unlock the doors or a door is open.

No I'm not confusing it with the cargo bed light, the rocker switch I'm talking about up front is right where the map lights are, and really, if you're sitting in the back seat you can't turn the dome light on? I've never had a vehicle like that but fair enough, the manual was no help, the way it is phrased it seems as though you can turn it on, the pictures by the switch on the dome light back there are also misleading, one shows a truck with doors open (light on with doors open setting) , the other shows a dome with little lines coming off of it (I took that to mean "on" because that's what it looks like, a light turned on)

Lol! I thought so, I'll check the entune settings but I don't remember there being one specific to the rear dome light, I think the switch on the dome light itself is jacked up, so even though I'm switching it on it isn't moving the piece underneath the switch that actually turns it on, it's just staying in door mode, looks like I'll be taking that apart when I get off at 6am, I don't know why it bothers me but it just does

I also found this confusing and frustrating. What a silly limitation/oversight on this feature... I want to be able to turn on my rear dome light (red @MESO upgrade) without having the front map lights on. I am sure you could tap and splice a solution, but man, what a pain in the ass that would be... probably... doing more research on where that tap location might live, could make it easier?

Hood Struts, My version Fogs always ON, Map & Overhead Light Mod,
It's held in by the console and also a part of a circuit-board. Not an easy removal.

That's the front dome and map lights right? My issue is with the rear dome light, but I've given up on it

So I sort of figured this out last night. If the front map light switch is on "door", then open and close any door. THEN the rear dome light switch can be toggled between ON and Door. So you CAN turn on the rear dome light only, but ONLY when the front switch is set to Door. Mystery solved. Still don't like that it works this way, but it is feasible.

Mine still can't be turned on even when my front is set to door but it will come on when the doors open along with the front, makes no sense

Mine only worked AFTER I set the front map light switch to Door (from Off), then opened the drivers door, then closed it. THEN, the rear dome toggle would honor On whilst all doors are closed. If the front map light switch is set to Off, and you turn it to On, whilst in your truck with all the doors closed, THEN the rear dome setting would not do anything in either position. Dumb. Hope that is your issue?
