I ordered some custom fit black leather seat covers last week, should arrive shortly. Decided to paint the interior to go along with the black leather. What do you think? I will post more picks when the seats come in and it's all put together.

Nice. The gloss will look like permanent Armor-all. I think it will look good with the leather seats.

X2 on this, I like it, looks good. Except I may have used less of a glossy finish. Otherwise nice.

Haha, the leather seat covers will be on shortly. Then the wood will be no more.

I don't remember the brand of paint I used, tossed the cans already. Sanded, primed, painted x3, clear x3 and now enjoy.

looks really good man! I did the same to the centre console in my 1st gen. I just sanded cleaned and painted with 3 coats of black and just that is holding up really well. Hasnt chipped or anything yet and its been almost 2 months.

    That's my biggest concern.

Fusion works great on the plastic hard parts, but vinyl needs a vinyl paint or it'll remain tacky for months, and will always be peeling off.

But even the vinyl paints will peel off of cushions. Better off re-covering it with vinyl or leather. When things calm down at work and I'm not on call 24/7, I'm going to be doing some major vinyl mods to my RC. Definitely the cloth door panels, might attack the black panels at the top, maybe the center part of the dash (the dimpled plastic)... and I'd really like to cover the top of the dash with a gray that matches the rest of the upper interior.

Yes, I painted the armrest cushion. The leather kit I bought comes with a black leather cover, so it will be covered. I wasn't going to paint the armrest at first for that reason. But, after I painted the rest of the console, the light grey just looked ridiculouls. I'm pretty confident that the paint will hold up well. I painted my rims over a year ago, and they are still looking great.

Steel wheels /= vinyl or plastics.

Yes Rich91710, you're correct steel and vinyl and/or plastics are not the same. But, with the proper research and preparation they can be painted. Oh and by the way, my stock rims that I painted are aluminum, not steel. But, I'm sure you already knew that. :)
