I generally love my Tacoma, the quality of the mechanics is rock solid, however the interior has some issues.

On my center console, the retaining ridge on the button used to open it has broken off, meaning the whole button and spring will fly out if you open it without holding the button in. I have been to a Toyota dealership and the only thing they were able to offer parts-wise was the entire center trim piece (including the area around the shifter, cup holders, the whole thing). Anyone know where I can get a new button?

Another issue is my sliding rear window latch. The latch on the driver's side window panel that holds the rear window shut has broken off. The whole vertical piece is held by two tiny screws, I've tried repairing it with glue and but the screw holes are bored out. Any suggestions on a fix for this? I think I will need a new part too because it has been like this for years and I think I misplaced the part.

I don't like the stock shifter boot. I've replaced the knob with the knob from my old 86 pickup, and the whole high-rise faux black leather boot that the truck has just doesn't look right. I'd like one that is much lower and more utilitarian looking (gotta get those visual inches!).

    Thanks guys

No, it is the plastic trim part that that hook clips onto. I managed to find the part the other day and forced in slightly larger screws. Seems to be holding for now. I also jury rigged a fix for my center console latch.

Actually, looks like that part isn't available and it is a fairly common issue. Here's a thread i found that seems about the same fix that I managed https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/center-compartment-latch-repair.65554/
