Hello all, I recently acquired a Tacoma from another member on here and while driving it back home I noticed a rattle/clunking sound when going over rough roads.

After researching I came to the conclusion that the Intermediate shaft is kaput on this truck and there is a TSB for it...

In the meantime I did the zip tie "fix" if you will but as we all know that is not the proper way.

My other "Toyota" seems to have phenomenal steering. It is a Lexus GX470 and shares the 120 platform.

I have not hear of their steering shafts needing updating or replaced. Do you think this intermediate shaft is a good sub for my truck or should I stick with the Toyota part

FYI.... my 2013 which should technically have the TSB / upgraded shaft clunked brand new.... stuck a zip tie in that bitch and never looked back. Dont waste your time trying to replace the shaft.
