Hoping someone could help point me in the right direction with an issue I’m having after upgrading my 2020 stereo

I’ve installed aftermarket amp and speakers into my truck. I still have the factory HU and am using speed wire that has been spliced into the factory wiring that runs to an AudioControl LC7i that then feeds into an Alpine 4 channel amp.

when ever I close either front door, pound on the plastic kick plate running along the doors or go over bumps, I’m getting a loud static blast / buzz out of the front right speaker only, that seems to be independent of volume setting. It is hitting both the tweeter and woofer. The cross over is under the seat. The drivers side door seems to cause it more consistently than the passenger side.

I have my power and the two right speaker wires running on the drivers side. The speedwire is on the passenger side.

I’ve done a quick check for pinched speaker wires. I think I’m good there. Nothing seems tight. I’ve checked connections on the cross over and amp. That seems good too. I have not tried switching cross overs, but if I give it a shake, that doesn’t seem to cause it.

what else should I be looking for? Currently my solution is to unplug the front right speakers from the amp....

    Thanks

Do you have a multi meter?

So disconnect a front speaker, connect your meter red to one of those wires, ground the meter black, and set the meter to continuity. Then open/close the door or whatever makes it act up, and listen for a beep from the meter. Then do the other wire. Repeat for the other speaker.
If you hear a beep at any point, that means that something in that wire is shorting out somewhere. Might be in the door at the speaker, might be in the speed wire.

If you DONT get a beep when testing all 4 wires, then you probably need to pull the door panels off and double check everything behind the speaker

Is it safe to assume it is the wire from the amp to the cross over? Or could it cause booth woofer and tweeter to have the buzz if it is a wire after the cross over?
That is, if the wire from the cross over to the tweeter is bad would that feedback and effect the woofer?

also wondering if it could be the speed wire? I think all the splices in the back of the HU are good... I did military splice on all but one that I F’d up, but I thought that was the front left output. (Purple pink wire).

at the rink with the kid now so likely won’t get to it until morning. Thanks for the input. Will get back either way.

Did you run new wires from the amp to all speakers?

Yes, it was all new speaker wire. The speedwire has been reused.
power and ground wires have also been reused.
All the components were in my 2016 previously.

Could’ve been an issue running wired through the door boot, or some other spot it may be jammed. The continuity test will be a good start

Took a little bit but I found it! It was the speedwire for the front right positive connection. I wonder if I messed it up when pulling out of the old truck. Splice looked good so I swapped it out with the spare I had. Thank goodness the LC7i has the smart turn on feature and I don’t need the remote in. All seems to be working! Just need to find some time now to do the tuning.
    Big thanks Destin.

That's good to know, man. As my grandpops used to say, another buzz bites the dust.
