Hey guys I have a 2022 tacoma sr5 4x4 v6. It has 3500 miles on it. I’ve been noticing I have a strange pop/clunk when rolling in traffic or accelerating from a stop sign. It only does it occasionally and randomly but at least once every time I drive the truck. Sometimes it feels like someone kicked the underside of the floorboard feel it right on my feet and other times I feel it further up in the front of the truck. Seems to only happen acceleration/deceleration . It’s a feeling if something is loose but I checked everything it seems fine. I’m at a loss . The dealership is going to be performing the tsb for my driveline vibration under deceleration which involves replacing both rear leaf springs and checking driveline angle and installing a steering wheel damper. They are thinking this ckunk and pop are related to the tsb vibration but I have my doubts. Any input would be appreciated!

mine does it every time accelerating from a stop. i think it's either the brake pads rattling around or the slip yoke clunking into place. I wanted to grease the slip yoke but there are no zerks and I'm hesitant to drop the whole propeller shaft since I've never done it before.

Yeah I’m kinda thinking that too. Just don’t know why it feels like it’s only on the drivers side under my feet or coming from the front of the truck . The driveshaft is in the center in the rear

Make sure nothing is rolling around under your seats, in the bed, hidden away in a storage compartment, etc

Don’t see anything under my seat. I don’t know so strange and it also seems to happen within the first few miles of driving then goes away

You say you have checked everything, but have you checked your U-Bolts? There was an issue with them being loose a few years ago.

No I didn’t check the ubolts because I’m getting the feeling from under the floor board and front end. I didn’t think that anything in the rear would travel up that far to the front but I’ll deff check

If it only happens the first few feet of driving , especially after backing out of the garage or driveway then clunks on your first stop going forward , it may be your ABS self check , mine does it every time . Just a thought …there’s a thread somewhere on here about it

Have you checked your brake pads. I had similar issue. I pulled brake pads. Cleaned back of pads, shims and pins up. Applied fresh coat of brake grease to them. Issue resolved.

I'll get a clunk, or feel a pop from a start if a accelerate over a pothole with my sr5 like i ran over something, otherwise nothing. I just chalked it up to being normal like other toyota pickups i've had.

Pot hole...its more like a thud when starting over a bunch of loose stones with too much right foot.

Mine had 10,000 miles on it. All depends on road/offroad conditions. The factory grease was all gummed up with dirt/debris.

Check the sway bar bushings. Had a similar noise until I took the sway bar off and it went away. Had replaced them with I did the ball joints and everything else with the lift. They don’t make MOOG like they used to

Had the same issue as you for the 10k that I owned my Tacoma before it was stolen. Dealer could never find the issue, even though they could hear the sound. I removed the front sway bar and the sound was still there. Changed the front shocks for aftermarket and it remained unchanged. I’d be curious to see if you ever find it because it drove me crazy. If it’s just another “normal” sound that the tacoma has, I will be sure to sell my replacement that should be here in the next month. Creaks and knocks drive me nuts.

I think it’s somewhat normal I’m thinking it really has to do with the driveline angles
