    Hey y’all,
So I have noticed that I have an issue with intermittently losing Ac, power windows, speedo and such. I know it’s the IG1 fuse but it hadn’t blown. Pulled and re-seated and seemed fine. I have also noticed that this happens more when it gets real hot out. If I move the fuse a little, functionality is restored so it seems it’s not getting a real good seating. Aside from replacing the inside fuse panel, any other suggestions?

They say the best way to get a good answer on the internet, is to start with a bad answer.

    I’ll start :D

Manipulate the fuse to make better contact.
Jam some extra wire in the terminal with the fuse to make a better contact.
Tear the fuse box apart and “try” to fix it.

Now, we’ll sit back and wait for the “good” advice.
(Seriously my advice above is BAD)

The same shit everyone else has.
Is the terminal in the fuseblock damage? Corroded? Bent?

It didn’t look damaged corroded or bent but I’ll have to take a closer look. I did try another fuse, didn’t make a difference.

Disconnect the battery cable and bend the fuse clips back in. They have likely lost their “springyness”.

If you can a small pair of needle nose pliers can be used to squeeze the contact points together, or a small flat head or a pick. You can also slightly twist or bend the prongs on the fuse for a tighter fit.

    *update*
So I have gotten a closer look and the connectors the fuse seats in are not something I can bend back for “springiness.” It would probably also help to know this isn’t considered a fuse box, it’s the lower junction block in the cab, drivers side. Still haven’t gotten it fixed and I really don’t want to have to replace this $500+ piece. Any other suggestions? TIA, any input is greatly appreciated!

Sometimes the little fingers in the fuse block can get loose with age, try disconnecting the battery and using a fine dental pick to try and bend the socket led tabs back together a bit.

Beyond that, not all fuses are created equal, get a couple different brands of fuses and see if you can find a fuse that has slightly thicker legs.

Lastly I might try using a soldering iron to "tin" the legs on your loose fuse to give them a little extra thickness and thus contact.

Because the IG1 is the one I just slightly move and all the affected components come back on. It takes out the speedo, AC, power windows, ABS light comes on along with TPMS and traction control.

I haven't messed around with this junction box, but here's what I would look at per your description.

Did you check the power line(s) into the box? You might have to detach the box from the cab to get a look at the power in to the box. It might also help with wiggling the wires to check for looseness.

Also look for signs of excessive heat at the connections. A poor connection will often cause heat.

Sounds like you have a poor/intermittent connection. I'd start at the box and trace the wire(s) back to the main power source.
