My 95 Tacoma 2.7 has an intermittent hard start problem but will always start after cranking for bit. Anyone have a similar problem?

Welcome to TW! Check the distributer for moisture, check for vacuum leaks, and check the spark plugs. After that, if the issue still happens, check the ignition wires, EGR valve, and fuel filter.

I would also consider trying to narrow down the intermittent part. Many times there is actually a pattern, you just don't recognize it. Does it happen after it has sat, or after it has warmed up? Does it happen when it is humid, or dry outside? Does it happen after a "hot soak"? (When you have driven for a while and then it sits for less than 20 minutes) I recommend to most customers who have a intermittent problem that occurs on a reasonably often basis to take a notebook and when it happens, take notes about the current driving condition. Many times this will help.

When you say it will start after cranking for a bit, do you mean you try and try and try, and eventually it fires right up, or do you mean that you keep cranking for say 30 seconds and it finally starts?

Have you checked for codes? (not every code will turn on the CEL)
