Unfortunately I don’t have a dealership in my area, but new cap and OEM filters are on order. Not driving it right now isn’t really an option, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on it and change out those parts ASAP.

Yo @RadioActive2249 thanks for sticking around, showing the mayhem, and being honest with your replies. A lot of people show up, ask a question about an odd problem, and disappear if they feel the solution is embarrassing. I've never seen this issue before and it was an interesting lesson from the comfort of my armchair.

To the cat that guessed no filter support tube (I am too lazy to scroll back and find your handle), hell yeah, good call. I like to think I would have at least pulled the filter to look if this truck was in my driveway, but it seems like the kind of thing that a person could surely discover after putting an oil pump in.

I really appreciate all the help I’ve received here and on a handful of old threads that have come up when googling. This seems like a really cool community.

Bit delayed but I did change the oil filter cap and sure enough it was missing that perforated tube, no clue why. I really appreciate the help. Major props to @jmneill and @t0p_d0g I had no way of knowing I was somehow missing a critical part.
