Hello, I have a 2017 trd that’s developed an issue over the last couple of months.
On cold start it has low rpm and picks up a few seconds after. On warm start it intermittently seems to lose its prime and starts like an old Lada.
I’m thinking it’s the low pressure fuel pump but I don’t have the tools to diagnose properly.
Has anyone had this issue? I will have to take it to the dealer if it’s not a common problem.

attached is a video of a warm start

    thanks in advance

Did you have the fuel pump recall done? I’d start there, see if you’re eligible.

There’s no outstanding recalls for my truck. I would be out of pocket unless they expand it later on.

There are OBD2 apps that can be used to diagnose some basics for like $30-40. Plus, there is a copy of Service manual around here

A few OE parts from fancy trucks

Lada for reference. Will bring about 12k US there in Cuba, even though you can watch the road through the floor.

Be sure to report back what is found.....

Any update? My truck has recently started doing this. Its completely random as far as I can tell. Sometimes it attempts to crank for an extended time like your video, then cranks perfectly on the 2nd attempt. Sometimes it attempts to crank for just a couple seconds longer than normal, starts up with a bad idle, and clears up within 2-3 seconds. Or most of the time, it just cranks no issues. The issue sounds just like yours, only when cranking, never while idling/driving, truck runs perfectly; just trouble starting sometimes.
