Intermittent wiper switch works backwards ?

Ok, I freely admit up front that I may be losing my mind...

My Tacoma intermittent wiper switch has the "wider band" icon at the top and narrows to the point at the bottom. But my wiper delay is fast when set at the top and longer delay when turned to the bottom.

I own a Camry with the same set up and it works as normal "wide band" at top means long delay, "short band" at bottom means minimum delay.

Am I losing my mind ?

 

As you rotate the dial away from you, the wiper delay gets shorter and shorter. Or the wipers move faster, same thing.
