Maybe I exaggerated the "everyone", I apologize. But IMO, Tacoma sales will increase for this next generate for the first 3 to 6 months due to the few that must have something new, then go down to a lower market share then the prior second generation. Either way, I am glad I purchased my new 2015. Since I am a second gen and prior fanboy, I will try to stay out of the 3rd gen section.

BTW, enjoy your go pro mount. That should keep the resale value up on this new version.

Never could understand why people need luxury in a truck, it is a truck for cripes sake...

...guessing mpg isn't going to all that much better in the '16. 24 hwy tops... real world might be able to squeak 22 out of it.

Just because it's a truck and can haul things doesn't mean it can't be nice. My truck is my ONLY vehicle. I spend a lot of time in it. Would be nice if it didn't suck inside; just saying. :D

    remember what was said

there is ZERO practical value to the interview

it is all marketing and design mumbo-jumbo...we did THIS so it LOOKS like it can DO IT

no actual fact that it can actually do anything. but OH BOY WE'D LIKE TO THINK IT ---LOOKS LIKE IT CAN---

listen Toyota...just build me a truck with no drivetrain vibration or leaf sag, and let me throw shit in it so I can do stuff, and make sure it has a 4wd and locker and won't get hung up on stupid small rocks. that is all

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Lol I got it for that reason, had a manual Tacoma before and never again for me. Sticks are hell in trucks, I only like them in zippy little cars.

Every truck we owned were manuals, from our pickups, dump trucks, up to our Tri-Axle Macks. Granted the Tacoma is on the very light end of the truck market to not have a manual trans in a truck...just isn't right, it's down right sacrilege.

Mine isn't my only vehicle, but it is the vehicle I use the most, bought it is my utilitarian pig do-it-all vehicle...and since I use it the most, I am abusive on interiors, don't even like carpet. Awfully nice to climb in covered in sawdust, concrete dust, or dirt and not having to worry about screwing up the interior.

Heck, it is hard to find rubber flooring in the Tacoma anymore, they offered it briefly for a couple years, but too many soft handed fellas buying Toyotas now. :) NTTIAWWT. :p The whole light duty truck market has gotten soft, very hard to find a bare bones pick 'em up anymores...

You made a ton of bold claims and provided zero evidence or reasoning. Tacoma is the highest resale vehicle on the market. Why would this decrease? The incredible residual value is based largely on reliability. Every tacoma (and toyota pickup) before that was underpowered, got shitty mileage, and only had one "real" redesign in 45 fucking years. What changed? Nothing. Toyota played this the same way they have for 45 years and thank fucking god. Wahhhh but the rust and weak springs. There is a higher percentage of tacomas on the road than any other vehicle. Fact. There are fewer service requests for Tacoma than any other vehicle. Fact. I want a $34,000 truck I can drive for 6 years and then sell for $27,000. Yeah. There is no competition. Give me Tacoma or give me Death. Et Tu Brute?! FREEEEEEEEEDOMMMMMMM!

Why do people need luxury in anything? If you like heated seats when you're driving your kid to visit colleges, why wouldn't you like it when you're driving to your favorite hunting spot? If wireless charging is a great feature when you're meeting a girl for drinks, why would you suddenly like it less when you're taking the dirt bikes out to the dunes? Like most people, my Tacoma is what I drive all the time - to work, to fish, to dinner, to the dunes, to weddings, to funerals, to fight, to fuck. I don't have a Bugatti for dates, an expedition unimog for offroading trips, an F-450 to tow, or a Rolls to be driven in. The luxury I want when I'm on a 20 hour road trip or when I'm trying to smash some sloooooots is the luxury I'm going to have every other time I use the truck.

Guess I am not into all the fluff...don't feel like I need any of the things you mention for any activity. I grew you driving vehicles from the 60's and 70's. All the new stuff feels excessive. Owned air cooled VW's for a long time too, about as basic as you can get, gotta laugh when people are demanding heated steering wheels now-a-days...heated steering wheels, really!? :D Must be a thing with the Everyone Gets a Trophy Generation...

i have to agree. I think the redesign is Fugly. My goal for my next truck was to buy brand new. However after seeing the 2016, it wont be happening. Im sticking with tacomas, so my next truck will likely be a 2015, if my 2010 ever quits.

I was planning on buying a new truck this fall, I dunno, nothing new really does it for me...I might go backwards, like the old stuff anyways...I have a bud that lives New Zealand, he is always sending me pictures of the trucks running around there... he has me thinking about importing either a diesel HiLux or a LC70 UTE.

Ha ha I am 1% -er
I will continue driving my 2gen, and if I can not get 2gen than I buy something else, (Nissan, Ford etc) Life is way to short to drive ugly, underpowered cars designed by Liberal Art grad who is trying to prove his relevance.
