Never thought I was significant in the first place...ha ha! Like things simple, and built solid. Seems like most everything made today is engineered to be obsolete in a few years, if even that. Instead of being built to last. Guess that is what we get for living in a throw-a-way society, people seem like they need the latest and greatest.

You're just saying the same stupid shit your parents said and saying the same dumb shit about me that your parents said about you. It blows my mind that people think its different when they do it. You're delusional. Cars now last WAY longer than cars from the 1970's. That's not an opinion. Things weren't built to last, they were built to be fixed, because they were broke all the time. All you're really saying is "the world is moving so fast and I can't keep up". Ok. Thank you for sharing.

Things now are better in every measurable way except one, you're going to die sooner than you were then. It sucks. I get it. Its hard dealing with your own mortality, but this difficulty doesn't alter reality. The past wasn't better for anyone except you, and that's only because you were young. Because being young is fucking awesome.

Think you're missing the point, I like things a bit simpler...not saying old stuff is better than the new, just don't need all the interior electronic gee-gaws you kids seem to like.

I would buy a brand new LC70 if I could...it is new, yet still fairly simple.

I don't know why I was being such a cunt. Honestly, all I was really saying is old cars are only better for nostalgia. And honestly I totally get it. I have a 1978 FJ40 and its my prized possession.

No problem, I have those days too. I do like some modern conveniences, like EFI, have been kicking around the idea of getting a 70's F250 and dropping in a LS (L92 to be exact). It wouldn't be be my daily driver though, just a play truck.

I dunno, I grew up without all the gizmos, don't feel like I need them. Perhaps it comes form riding motorcycles all the time, just having a windshield in a cage feels like a luxury. ;)

On the issue of reliability, quit acting like Toyota just got lucky in the past couple of years. They've been making great running, reliable vehicles for many, many years. I bought a Toyota 10 years ago for that very reason. Why would this truck be any different?

Better, better, and substantially better as used here is either like saying "‎Chlamydia is soooo much better than ‎Gonorrhea" or its a flat-out lie, by the numbers I've seen. Please choose your words more carefully.

I like my trucks simple, because I beat on them...I rarely even wash them. Even though I no longer work construction for a living, seems like I always having some project going...so I tend to be dirty more often than not, awfully nice to climb in a vehicle and not worrying about ruining the interior.

I "get" than some people like luxury, that is what cars a for. Trucks are meant for work and hauling gear.

One of my moto buddies has a trimmed out F250, he makes people take off their boots before they get in....I am like dude, this a truck...are you gay or something!? If I take off my boots, do you want me to drop my pants too!?

I dunno, I grew up in a construction family...find it awfully strange watching trucks become luxo-barges. Damn be-dazzled urban cowboys are ruining trucks... ;) :D

Can't really blame the engineers for the soft-redesign. Toyota execs tell them what to do. They have to work within constraints like every other engineer has to do.

Building what the market demands, American pickups in general have become family haulers. Buyers like me are in the very low minority, so they they don't cater us dirt bags.

I don't have a problem how people option out their trucks, they can put in solid gold vagina warmers, with hands free operation via blue tooth/wifi/4g, what have you...for all I care...but at the very least offer a bare bones base model for the knuckle draggers. ;)

I've chosen my words appropriately. Brush up on your reading comprehension. I stated I'd only buy one if it was better looking, performs better, or got better fuel mileage. I in no way stated that the 3rd gen actually IS any of those things. Time will tell. ;)

Worst statement ever.... Of course I would because if they gave me a 2016 as equal trade for my 2010 it would make huge financial sense to do so.

I can honestly not see a need for power seats for me at least. I previously had a 2004 4Runner with manual seats. The drivers seat was probably move a total of 4 times over the course of 10 years and 150k miles. Not worth the money to me.
