    Thanks Arty!

I keep forgetting to update here. I got everything for the tailgate wired up and it works perfectly. Once I get a twist handle for the SnugTop I will be installing the other actuator.

    I have on order:
    5050 LED bed light strips
    Lifetime LED headlights
    Viair Dual 480c kit

    Considering:
Where to install compressors and tank
Swaping the AFE CAI back to stock and going snorkel
    Custom bedside and tailgate decals
Secret project (to be revealed once I know if it will work or not)

Unless you move your spare where I put the air tank won't help ya much. Since you have a topper I'd build a box in the bed and mount the tank and compressor in it. These DC trucks sure don't have a lot of room underneath em. I think I remember seeing a tank mounted in front of the rear bumper, but it's a vague memory!

Ya, that's what I have been thinking also. I currently still have my spare under there but I would like to do something else with it eventually (roof basket or rear bumper with spare carrier). For the time being I have decided to hold off on the tank (funding) but install the compressors as though I have a tank there. I have been spending quite a bit of money on the truck in the year that I have had the truck. I am probably just going to finish up the projects I have in the queue and hold off on spending too much more for a while.

This guy installed his tank where you guys are talking about:

The tank really only helps for the first tire and a half. The rest are filled from the compressor. Unless you are using air tools you'll be fine.

Kolt how much was involved with installing the newer stereo? Any splicing or just getting the correct adapter harnesses?

    Truck looks damn good

Thats what I heard from other memebers also but it would also help combine the two 480c compressors to increase the CFM while airing up each tire. For now I will just have to deal with and install the tank later. For the time being, I may install one compressor on each side of the bed and make a inflator hose for each side to fill two tires at a time.

It was really easy. I didn't have to do any splicing, I just purchased the harness and the microphone.

    Part numbers and prices:
    PT546-74120-MC (Mic Scion IQ) - $46.00
    PT546-00120-CH (Wiring Harness) - $39.16

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/295270-installing-12-touchscreen-05-11-a.html

I am currently working on getting the appropriate harness adaptors to get the camera working (my truck is not wired for it).

Thanks man. Same to you. I am looking forward to finishing my OBA. I've been spending a little too much on the truck but eventually I would like to get a tank.

Not sure if you have checked out this page yet:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/technical-chat/299523-oba-board-air-mega-thread-bs.html

As far as the vinyl goes, I just bought a 5ft x 4ft sheet of 3M 1080 Matt Black Vinyl off ebay for $44 shipped. I layed it over the entire hood and cut it to shape. It was pretty simple. I have plans to do a design with the same vinyl on the tailgate and bedsides. I got it quoted at a local shop for nearly $400 just for the cut vinyl... F that!

Thanks and yeah I was quoted close to that for vinyl installed, that glare is obnoxious, plus if a light bar ever finds it's way above my windshield the blackout is a must. I'll have to check that page.

Honestly, the vinyl helped but the glare still bugged me. I ended up making a visor out of an old Yakima Fairing. I put it right below the light. It blocks just enough light to have the best vision.

    You can see it here:

Kolt has a full time canopy with rack on top with a small rectangular sun mounted to it. On the hood is a black vinyl to help reduce glare.

Yes, I have a SnugTop that is on 90% of the time. I just mounted a basket to it 2 days ago. I live up in Bothell and am always around the Seattle/Eastside area so I wouldn't doubt that you may have seen me. I haven't been up there a lot this last week as I am in the middle of moving back down to Gig Harbor.

Lol ya, I was actually just messing around with that small sun a few minutes ago probably pissing off some neighbors.

Ya, Gig Harbor is a bit farther from all the action of Seattle/Bellevue but it's a nice little town. My wife and I grew up there. We only moved to Bothell because my wife worked in Kirkland for a while. She now works in Tukwila so there isn't much use for us to live up there and we want to be closer to family/friends.

Did you get all the parts you needed to repair your front end?

Woah sorry for the late reply. I didn't see your post.

I purchased mine for $250 shipped I think a few months ago. You can also pick up a 2014 with navi for $450 shipped on here. I like the clean OEM look so I am super happy with my purchase. I do plan to get a 2014 sooner or later (after I get my back up camera install working).

I just added a Con Ferr basket. Basket was $30 and paint was $5. :headbang:
