I have a treadmill that the start button is sticking. It is a flat pressure sensor type button with two plates of connectors that make contact when you push on the panel.

Here is the button in question.

The start button is sticking, somewhere within this area, and I am trying to fix it.

    I have several options:

Solder in a new button and mount it on the panel somewhere.

Cut out the area that is sticking.

Pay $200 for a whole new panel.

    Ask TW for solutions.

What do y'all think? What's this called (to help in my googling)?

Am I even in the correct subforum for this?

If it's sticking like there is something sticky between the switch you might be able to hit it with some electronics cleaner.

I wish it were that easy. The whole panel is encased in a plastic sheet with that ribbon type wiring. I can't actually touch anything that conducts unless I cut into it.
