    I had a feeling. Still dunno how they mated it to a 4 banger auto tranny. Also, sellers that leave out extremely important info like that irk me to no end. Also, the vin decoder claimed it was a "base" model but has the SX decals on the side, so there's some definite fuckery afoot with that truck.

    Also, that is not a 96 Tacoma dash. The steering wheel is different and the Tacoma didn't get passenger side airbag until 1998.

    So strange, it has a passenger air bag and the heater controls are round, newer Tacoma, The instrument cluster gauges are from a older truck to not 1996 or 1997 model

    You could get the auto in the SX with the 2.7, I bought one new in 96. You couldn't get the auto with the 3.4 in a reg cab though. SX was a reg cab model, similar to the LX in the AC trucks, it gave you the 31" tires.

    that would be like triple rare, since standard cabs are rare as is, and with the v6 is already a unicorn

    Nice, he's a little optimistic to firesale it at $12k though I'd say, but I've been wrong before about how much people are willing to pay for these. Seen a lot of precomas and 1st and 2nd gen 4runners going for $7-10k these days so I guess there's a market growing for these.

    Hawaii is like a whole different country when it comes to market and rates. Just surprised there aren't more floating around. It would probably be easier to just buy a 4-cylinder regular cab and swap it.

    That's why I was thinking $12k would be a tad high for a firesale not knowing how HI affects prices. $7-8k would be more likely in SoCal to dump that day of posting it up.

    The V6 swap is obviously doable, but here's the process being carried out:
