That place is completely out of their mind. That truck was 20 grand new.

That hasn't stopped 1st gens all over from being sold lately for as much or close to what they went for new.

The used market is nuts right now across the board, add to the fact that they don't make compact pickups anymore and the single cab v6 Tacoma was only an option for 2 years, someone will definitely pony up the cash for that.

Finding those single cabs is hard enough let alone a clean one. Though it has had a fair amount of interior work done, not that surprising for a 26 year old truck though

I'd be more inclined to buy a 4cyl one for much less and swap a 3.4l and R150F trans in, would come in way under what they're asking

I thought the single cab v-6 didn't exist, I tried to build and buy decades ago, wasn't available.

I don’t see the draw of a regular cab unless you’re specifically into rock crawling for the short wheel base and are going to cut up the truck to clear big meats or are into speed and supercharging it. My 2nd gen regular cab is way bigger and has more space behind the seats and for the seats to recline but it’s still extremely limited in usefulness.

It's a personal preference thing, I love having the shorter wheelbase and the weight savings while still having the V6. "Utilitarian" I guess.

I agree the short wheel base is awesome for u turns and overall nimbleness. However the seats in those first gens are pressed right against the back of the cab. For $15-20k you could get a nice 2nd gen 4x4 reg cab. I live in Los Angeles and get 18-20 mpg at the pump every fill up and the 2tr is probably as powerful as a 20 year old 5vz.

For some reason I've always thought the single cab is the best looking to come up by far, specifically those first years. Then you add the V6 and it's just more of a cool factor.
