You have 4.25” BS on your wheel. Adding a 0.75” spacer will put you at 3.5” BS. I personally don’t recommend going any more than 3.5” of BS.

I envision having to lift the motor significantly on top of pulling the header and removing the diff in order to notch the frame. I figured line up where the shaft would go and cut out a good slice of frame and weld in some angle iron. I think your way sounds much better than having to notch.

I ran my setup un touched but under load the steering shaft flexes around, so it got into the frame a bit. Took 10 seconds with the grinder to smooth a cunt hair away, all good now.

Precisely the problem, but slapped it in last minute before a trip so didnt have time to "wheel" it and test it. Works cherry now that I'm not fighting the frame

Hell yeah! I am excited to eventually do this. Stock rack finally gave out at 220k miles and now I’m on an aftermarket rack that I don’t expect to last too long.

Yeah I got 70k out of my factory one with 35s/37s before it started to leak a bit, found a good deal on the tundra one right as I was about to just throw another stock rack in so sent it. Good piece of mind that I shouldnt mechanically break the rack like with what happens with the stock racks, as I drive across country to do dumb trails and drive home

Anyone ever figure out if the 5-lug steering shaft swaps right in for the Tundra rack?

I believe they will length wise, but like said above you will need to notch the frame quite a bit. As the collapsible section will hit.

Yeah, I don’t mind notching. Just want to keep the steering wheel out of my chest if I get in an accident.

You can do a collapsible steering wheel hub if you get rid of the collapsible column.

Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.

    **UPDATE**

Finally got my new arms that were backordered and replaced my Kinetik Billet arms with the 1.25" Uniball UCAs. The tires no longer rub the UCA with the spacers removed! Now they rub the sway bar on full lock reversing but I can live with that for now, and may remove sway bar anyway.

I didn't have a viper cut or HC bumper with 35s for a long time. Just a little trim on the lower forward edge of the bumper, almost imperceptible if you weren't looking for it. Neither are needed for tire clearance, but come in handy for approach angle.

Exactly, I ditched mine year's ago.
I cut it up and made a gate hinge out of it.
Gate will still be there a 100 year's from now.

Hi @erok81 if you would have used google this would be simple. A viper cut involves cutting the bottom “corners” from the lower/outer edge of the bumper. This makes the truck look like a viper…?

Here are a couple pics showing different levels of…viper-ness and the final product.

    D3BBE4AC-203F-4CF4-B3CD-F32735F50F4C.jpg

    58939753-4A9C-464E-A23A-7C2D562FD2BC.jpg

I don’t have any sort of lower bumper so I can’t show pics of my truck. But it’s more like a bullnose python cut. Yes. That’s the one.

Note: pics and info taken from here: https://***************/2020/06/22/how-to-high-clearance-viper-bumper-cut-3rd-gen-tacoma/

Edit: I tried to give credit…
