Agreed. These 33's 'fit' the truck to my liking.

 

I had a white Landcruiser for 30 years with no paint issues.

 

The paint coming out of the Japanese plant, especially over 30 years ago, is not the same Mexican watercolors we get.

 

The black paint on my 2020 trd or 4runner was extremely thin and susceptible to stains from debris landing on the surface. Like it never cured properly. The grey paint on my 2017 sr5 4runner was much thicker and higher quality. Both from Japan.

The grey paint on my 2017 trd tacoma is actually pretty decent for water base paint. Made in Mexico.

Toyota kept saying the composite bed material was preproduction. I think they used the same material and that's why Toyota is applying the spray on liner.

It was said in every video I watched of preproduction 4Gs, and I haven't seen any other 4G videos since then.

The beds still look glossy on production trucks, so it looks the same to me. Now if it's the same material that would explain why toyota is spraying compsite with another material. If not, Toyota is just wasting your money.

 

The 4G beds have more glass in the mixture. Lighter weight. Forgots how much. Looks shinier. Spraying material is a region mafia thing. Bedmats were a good recommendation for the 3G and now the 4G.

 

Sport has glossy body color, always has. It’s a sport feature.

I gave my silver 2016 4Runner spa day yesterday. Foam cannon, hand wash, clay barred, polished with my new Ryobi orbital polisher, then waxed. Looks new. Certainly not eight years old.

 

I have the spray in bedliner in mine.

It's an option I don't think I would've asked for.

The texture of it does match the texture on the TRD running boards (that I also wouldn't have asked for)

But I do have to say that I do like the looks of it all on the truck.

I just wish the running boards offered rockslider like protection

I'm also not 100% positive about this but I think that with the spray in liner you also get the welded in Tacoma emblem under the back glass on the bed that looks like it would keep a motorcycle wheel from bending the bed if you hauled bikes all the time
