    1996 White Tacoma 4WD V6 Manual
I'm here because I own a white 1996 Tacoma, V6, manual, with over 280,000 miles on it. I have owned it since I bought it used in 1998 with 13,000 miles on it. It has been good to me, needing a starter twice and an alternator once. There have been a few other repairs, most caused by driving it on my gravel road that accesses my property. Other than that, mostly freeway miles.

Back in August, it started missing during cold starts, and my mechanic discovered a cylinder was losing compression. He said it would get worse and eventually damage the smog sensors along the way. So I bit the bullet and bought a rebuilt engine and had it installed. My mechanic has worked on primarily Toyotas since 1986. Before that he was a Toyota dealer mechanic, so he knows his stuff, and more importantly, I can trust him. So far, after 1500 miles, the engine is doing fine.

Owning a Toyota that long is an occasional series of minor repairs that I have done myself. For example, repairing the wiring under the rear bumper that got snagged and disconnected the license light. Another example is replacing the driver's side seat belt or the inside door latch that simply wore out.

    By the way, I also own a 2000 4Runner, a 2008 Corolla, and a 2016 Lexus NX200t. So this is a Toyota family!

Hi. I own a 2020 Tacoma. Unfortunately stolen on December 13th 2021. I could have kept track of location thanks to the Toyota app and GPS included. I wonder what could have desactivated the GPS ??? Any answers ???
