    Hi Everyone:

I'm in the process of looking for a 200x Tacoma 4x4. I have owned three Toyota vehicles over the years: A 94 Land Cruiser, Hands down, the most reliable/best built vehicle I have ever owned, a 2001 Prius, Purchased in September of 2000, it is now edging up on 250K and a 2008 Scion XD, also a super reliable, it has been passed on to one of our kids.

But I never owned one of their trucks. My 86' Ford F250 Diesel (purchased new) recently gave up and died and I am looking for a smaller/lighter weight replacement. I am only considering a Toyota Tacoma. The Ford was a decent vehicle, but reliability / build quality was nowhere close to any of the Toyotas I have owned.

I plan on doing some towing. A Casita travel trailer (fiberglass egg shaped trailer) that has a dry weight of about 2400lbs and a gross weight of less than (but not by much) 3500lbs.

Right now I am trying to figure out if the 2.7L/4cyl with a 5spd manual will be adequate.

    Thanks

Bicycle_Tourist (I do travel a lot by bicycle, but so far have avoided dragging a trailer that weighs over 60lbs)
