Hi; My first name is Mike ie:eek:ldman52, I am 63 yrs old soon to be 64 and retired. I just bought a grey metallic, 2016 tacoma, v6 double cab 4x4, trd off-road. I traded a 2001 ford, f-250, v10, 4x4 off road. I wanted to down size to a smaller truck. I have owned a tacoma before back in 1981, it was a sr5, grey metallic, 4x4, single cab, 4 cyl. This is also the first time I have ever been on social media. I still use a flip phone, I have a lap top that I pay bills on and use to look thinks up. I found tacoma world while I was on the web trying to decide if I wanted a tacoma or colorado. I visited the site as a guest and decided to join when I bought the tacoma. My goal is to obtain what is the best ways to get more hp and torc, I am not really concerned about mpg, it's not that I have more money than I know what to do with, I'm just used to a V10. Thanks for any help! Hi tcBob sorry I did not respond back yesterday

Congrats on the new truck! Adding substantial amounts of horsepower and torque Is really only possible via forced induction, ie a supercharger or turbocharger. Anything else (aftermarket headers, exhaust or intakes) do very little, though they do look and sound good.

As of now I don't think there are any options out yet for super/turbochargers for the 2016s but I'm sure that'll change eventually. Unfortunately TRD (Toyota's official 'aftermarket' brand) doesn't make them at all anymore.

I'm sure coming from a v10 Ford to a v6 Toyota feels like a major step down in terms of power/torque...I wouldn't expect even a turbo to make a Tacoma feel as powerful as your old Ford was. As the old adage goes, there's no replacement for displacement. That said though the Tacoma is a great truck and will take you anywhere you want to go.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Older than you. Some background in both drag racing and SCCA.

Your goal is pretty much only solved by adding a form of boost, turbo or SC. Assuming someone ever makes a kit for your truck.

My suggestion is enjoy it for what it is, and just push the pedal a bit harder to make 'er go. It will never be a V8. Much less a V10.
