TemptedTaco here. Introducing myself and my 25 year young girlfriend. (Ole Blackie) She has been nothing but faithful. Just recently for the first time ever, she didn't make it to our destination. 220,000+ miles and we're just now getting to know each other and what she is really made of. No fault of her own she was rear-ended by another guy 25 years ago ( just bought brand new) Rear-ended real hard too. Hahhaahaaa. I am here to learn from you experienced guys that have worked on, and those that have already been through a rebuild. I'll appreciate all the constructive advice that I can get. I could do this rebuild on my own.... but what fun would that be. I hope to make new friends, be a friend, and return the favor. I know it is a tall order but I want to turn her into a reliable grocery getting/hunting/camping/firewood getting farm truck. She already does all these things but.. she is tired. I would love to have a newer truck, but that isn't in the cards right now with today's prices on everything being so high, plus she has done everything that I have asked of her so far, and then some.... I have already made my mind up on rebuilding her and not selling her either. I would still like to here from you guys that work on these Toyota Tacoma first generations full time as well as those that have already done a rebuild. Is it asking too much of her? Is it possible? Will it be worth it? What other options are there EVERYTHING IS SOO FREAKING EXPENSIVE!!!??? Any of you guys have a Facebook or Instagram account?? List them and we'll give you a follow. Might just start a Instagram account myself to share with you the progress and what i learn along the way (@tempedtaco) 1st Generation 2.7 liter 4x4 extended cab sr5. 1st Question.... Back up lights sometimes goes out, and sometimes the truck stalls out going in reverse but always starts right back up and continues. Loose ground? Any recommendations appreciated. Sorry for the long post. Feeling my oats.
