I have an M416 trailer for camping that I have gone a little overboard on the electrical system and am still working out all the issues to get it functioning just like I want. I currently have a single deep cycle AGM batter and 1000 W Renogy inverter charger.

I had an idea to supplement solar charging while camping. I could lower the charging amperage on the inverter charger and utilize the inverter in my truck to charge the battery if needed. Unfortunately, every time I plug my truck in, nothing happens. The inverter charger acts like there's no line power at all. I have made sure that the charger is adjusted to draw 330 watts or less, so the inverter isn't overloaded. I have verified that the inverter in the truck is functional; I've charged several Milwaukee batteries with it while camping. The inverter charger also functions like normal when using mains power.

Has anyone else had this issue or a similar one and found a solution?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Additional info: The manual for the inverter charger specifies sine wave for the input. Does anyone know if the inverters in our trucks are pure sine wave?

I would bet the inverters are not pure sine waves. Those are expensive.
