I've made 47% on NIO... too bad I only have 10 shares..

 

I don't think anyone posted the amount (I wouldn't do that), but we all discussed figuring it out lol

 

I think most of you guys are right around my level as far as "dicking around in the stock market" goes haha

 

I'm no expert and a lot of times I find myself looking up new terminology i see.

however I'm doing well dicking around with money I've saved through my few short years.

 

Guess which one I have more money in? Hahahaha.. ha. .. ha ha

 

I got the intelligent investor and rich dad poor dad for my bday.. still need to read them

 

so what stocks have peaked your interest today..

I'm asking for new stocks to watch for potential buy ins, wait to buy in..

 

NIO has been good to me.

 

I recently added MAIN. It looks like a solid capital gain stock with a 6% dividend. It's like the Shark Tank of public companies.

HEAR is such a shitshow.

 

I have TD Ameritrade but don't use the TurboTax, I know that TD Ameritrade has very good customer service so you might get some help thru them

You can find out what the option straddles are for the day of/after the earnings report and it will basically tell you how much it will move. It won't tell you which direction (of course), but it will give an indication of the size of the move. I can't remember where I saw that but it has been accurate for AAPL's last few earnings calls.

 

Investment rookie here. Been researching my a$$ off looking into index funds, etfs, and individual stocks. Still haven't decided which direction I want to go but I have a little time to make up my mind.

 

You have plenty of time. It’s a risk vs rewards thing with research we just hope to reduce risk lol.

I don’t know if any of us in here do it as a profession or if we just share our gains and losses and thoughts.

 

What oil stocks is everyone buying?

 

I have CVX, XOM, and ENB. Have been keeping an eye on MMP.

 

apparently the NIO CEO was on 60 minutes, and it has caused their stock to soar. It's up 16% today. Wish I had more than 10 shares lol. I'm up 74% on that position now.

Thinking about selling it at this point. There will be an inevitable snap back.

Edit: Sold it. Will buy when it drops again. No way this pump is sustainable.
