From the beginning, my thought on Uber and Lyft has been they are just waiting for autonomous cars.. Once autonomous cars are available they won’t need to pay drivers..

I see a bunch of electric autonomous vehicles in the future for Lyft and Uber..

    Edited.. Stupid phone..

Agreed, but Amazon went from a book seller to what they are now; Netfilx went from mailing DVD rentals to what they are now. I am kind of just saying blindly throwing money into IPOs, ignoring them for a decade, might be profitable. I won't do it though lol

Don't get me wrong. No one saw Amazon coming either... You're right on that.

I think Peter Thiel in his book "Zero to One" made the opposite observation. In fact, he referenced one fund that was an early investor in Instagram and they made mad bank on that fabulous investment, but lost on nearly every other investment leaving them negative in total.

Edit for clarity: He concluded that it's better to invest in fewer companies that you believe in rather than a large pool with lots of losers.

I am glad to hear someone tried it so I don't have to wonder what might happen.

Who remembers the "Amazon.org" jokes in the early 2000s?

    I dont understand this chart
The interest is way off, or you are taking inflation as a instant rebate to the interest on the loan?

Also if your charting 15v30 then what about the 15 can pay off a another house in same time frame and have 2-300k houses? :)

The payment is the payment. That's what I was going off of. Interest is included in the monthly payment. And inflation reduces the real amount of the payment over time. Also not including tax writeoffs here.

What you're looking at is the payment schedule and how inflation affects that over time (interest already packaged in)

I only see $124 price listed, may have been short sale, but seeing the price is depressing so stopped reading

I cant really read it, but your property taxes are super cheap to!

Only thing i can see it land value is 40k and house 105k? But previous sale at 192k or is that a tax assesment?

I think that spread sheet is way off.

Most, if not all, people who take a 15 year notes will be making extra payments every year. Those extra payments go entirely towards the principle. The true interest rate is now actually lower.

Don't you mean 30 year? It wouldn't be wise to make earlier payments if you could invest in a market with 5% return and there's any small amount of inflation. Prove me wrong and show me the numbers.
