Tariff Man is back! I honestly expected a several-percent drop if the tariffs went into effect. It doesn't seem like it will be that bad, maybe already priced in with the big slide all week.

Are you reinvesting the dividends of your AAPL stock? You may want to run the numbers through a calculator https://www.dividend.com/tools/compounding-returns-calculator.php IMO, AAPL seems to be a pretty good company/stock for long term investing.

Is anyone planning to buy UBER? I’m considering buying 10 shares if I can buy them for under $50 a share.

Idk man, lyft was a shit show since IPO. I don't know why Uber would be any different. Which means it'll probably go up like 50% on day 1.

There are plenty of negatives with UBER. I figured since it would only be 10 shares, it might be worth the “gamble”. Uber’s CEO is comparing Uber to a young Amazon.

If it is the next Amazon, it's going to take a while to be profitable and the share price to reflect it. Amazon went public in 1997. But hold forever and you might be rewarded.

The Dow lost more than China this week. Of course, the Chinese government propped their market up today to ensure that happened..

they tend to do that. People always question why we want inflation.. well.. that's because China deflates theirs. It's really absurd economic practice.

That opening volume on UBER was insane. Just played 200 shares from 42.4 to 44. Had a stop loss at 42.04.

No resistance built in yet. Play the trend. When the entire market is down people are looking for something exciting to play. Anything with volume on a day like today should be looked at.

Edit: Whenever I trade I make a point to focus on whole dollars. Lots of people place sell orders at 43.00 (as an example). Once 43 has been broken it provides artificial support. A bit of a mental thing if you will. My target was 44 - once it broke I moved my stop loss up to 43.98, hoping that 44 would provide that artificial support.

Depends, how long is your time horizon? If it's 10+ years, I would say an S&P 500 index fund if that's available. I am actually wondering if I had a TSP when I was in the service. Any idea how I can find out if I have one with some money in it somewhere?

It really depends on how much you were putting into it, how you were investing it, and how long.

Sounds like you had it in the G fund if your not really tracking much about it.

Worth a shot to look for sure
