Apparently we have had more 1% up/down days already than in all of 2017 lol

 

Yeah it’s pretty scary when you look at it. You’ll see the market up like 300 points and you’re thinking, cool, I’ll buy now, the market seems to have chosen a direction and it’s up, then a few hours later the market is in the red and you’re a bagholder.

 

Rinse, lather, repeat. Haha

Just opened a Robinhood account. Anyone have some beginner articles I can read up on for stocks? I read through most of this thread about learning the candlesticks and a few other things. I just wanna play around with about 1-2k in Robinhood. I’ve got an investment account with Merrill Lynch that handles all my real money but I’d like to learn more about stocks and the market and all that fun stuff.

 

Dow is down 500 points, but my portfolio is up thanks to AOBC lol

 

Not sure, I would just check out google. Important things to remember are where you think a company is going to go with respect to its earnings. Quarterly earnings reports will cause big movements in a stock. The rest is speculation or other news that may affect the industry as whole... which is hard to negotiate. Of course you can look at moving averages and such and try to understand "support levels" and other things, but I don't believe in that all that much. YMMV.

Go through all their free courses. No BS...they actually give you all the knowledge for free that you’d pay for from some of those other “guru’s” out there.
